Will Support Department of Defense eCommerce Site "EMALL"
CHARLESTON,
SC - October 24, 2012 - SCRA Applied R&D, an applied research
corporation, today announced the receipt of a 15 month, multi-million
dollar contract to support Department of Defense (DoD) EMALL. DOD EMALL
is a full service, eCommerce site positioned to be the preferred online
purchasing service for DOD and other federal and state agency users. The site provides users with a shopping experience and functionally
similar to commercial ordering and shopping sites, such as Amazon.com,
but has custom features and services to meet the unique requirements of
the government's ordering environment.
A follow-on to a
previously awarded contract, SCRA Applied R&D will continue to
provide round-the-clock sustainment and maintenance services, software
engineering, testing and configuration management. SCRA Applied R&D,
the program manager, will team with Northrop Grumman Systems
Corporation and ICF International to execute this contract.
"The
support performed under this contract demonstrates SCRA Applied
R&D's ability to not only maintain and sustain the existing system
and related applications, but also to apply new technologies and
off-the-shelf technologies in innovative ways to deliver new client
solutions," said SCRA Applied R&D President Chris Van Metre. "We
look forward to our continued work on the DOD EMALL program to ensure
our servicemen and women are well-equipped to serve and protect."
