On The Move
Beloved Mt. Pleasant Bottles ‘N Brushes Opens Second Location in Downtown Summerville September 2010
Aug 25, 2010
CHARLESTON, SC - August 24, 2010 - After much success since opening in Mt. Pleasant in 2008, Bottles ‘n Brushes, an art studio that hosts weekly group painting classes, is opening a second location this September. The new location will open Sept. 1 in Summerville’s historic district at 120 North Main Street. An Open House event will take place in conjunction with the Summerville DREAM Art Walk, Thursday, Sept. 16 from 5 until 8 p.m. Art walkers are invited to stop by the new studio for a cocktail, meet the owners and artists, and peruse Bottles ‘n Brushes artwork that is taught each night.
The Bottles ‘n Brushes group art classes are suitable for all levels of expertise. Using an online monthly calendar, participants sign up for a specific class, follow step-by-step instructions from local professional artists, paint and take home their artwork at the end of the class.
Classes run 2 to 3 hours, and cost $35 and $45 respectively, which includes all art supplies and the finished canvas. All painting stations are set-up ahead of time by Bottles ‘n Brushes and the artist is on-hand throughout the class to answer any questions, making the experience hassle-free and fun. Participants are invited to select from the Bottles ‘n Brushes beer and wine bar or bring their own beverages (no liquor) and food.

In other news, both the Mt. Pleasant and new Summerville studios recently introduced a new class called “Home Sweet Home” in which participants paint their own home with the assistance of an on-site artist. This is a spin-off of the hugely popular monthly class, “My Best Friend,” where Bottles ‘n Brushes prints a picture of the participant’s pet and then the class paints their pets step-by-step on canvas.
Starting Tuesday, Sept. 21, the Mt. Pleasant studio will launch After School Art Classes, which will be held each Tuesday from 3:30 until 5 p.m. for six weeks. These classes are open to students of all ages and cost is $125 plus tax. Additionally, a 6-week Hand-Built Pottery session will begin Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 3:30-5:00 and is open to children of all ages. The pottery class cost is $200 plus tax. Reservations are required for both.
The Summerville studio calendar is now posted online at www.bottlesnbrushes.com and reservations are being accepted. For more information, call Summerville Studio Manager Kimberly Driggers at 843-419-6077 or e-mail sum@bottlesnbrushes.com.
