Beer-B-Que Bash Held May 15
JAMES ISLAND, SC - May 15, 2010 - Although it has only been open for a less than a year, Smoky Oak Taproom on James Island has quickly established itself, not only as a great place for barbecue, but as one of Charleston's premier beer bars. With nearly 30 taps of craft beer and dozens more in bottle, beer enthusiasts from all over Charleston have adopted Smoky Oak as their James Island home.
Therefore, it is no surprise that on Saturday, May 15, from 2-9 p.m., Smoky Oak Taproom has teamed up with the James Island Messenger to bring you the first-ever Beer-B-Que Bash in it's large parking lot, located on the corner of Camp and Dills Bluff roads on James Island.
There will be about 25 different breweries represented and close to 50 different beers to sample, many of them will be rare brews that are not available anywhere else in Charleston. Smoky Oak co-owner and head chef Rick Agius has worked diligently with local distributors to get plenty of these seasonal and specialty beers on tap for this event.
The cost to get into the Beer-B-Que Bash will be totally FREE, 6-oz. pours can be purchased for $2 all day ($1 between 2-4 p.m.).
There will also be live music with Flatt City, Rawberry Jam, and Dangermuffin throughout the afternoon and evening. Of course, there will be delicious food from Smoky Oak available all day.
